Cookie policy

Updated October 9, 2026

Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. "Similar technologies" include the browser's local storage and session storage. This page lists every one we use, why, and for how long. How we handle personal data is explained in our Privacy policy.

Your choices

  • In Europe (including the UK, EEA and Switzerland) and in Canada, a banner with two equal buttons, "Accept all" and "Reject all", asks before we set any cookie or store anything that isn't strictly necessary. Until you accept, no statistics or advertising cookie is set.
  • Elsewhere, statistics and advertising are on by default, and you can switch them off.
  • Everywhere, "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page lets you change your choice at any time.

Strictly necessary (always on)

Name Type Set by Purpose Kept for
CookieConsent Cookie Us, via our consent platform (Cookiebot) Remembers your cookie choice 12 months; 1 month where we don't show a cookie banner
__cf_bm Cookie Cloudflare, which delivers and protects the Website Tells people and bots apart, to protect the Website 1 day
contact-form-draft Session storage Us Keeps your unfinished contact form if the page reloads Until you send the form or close the browser tab
contactFormSubmittedAt Local storage Us Stops the same browser sending the form twice within 5 minutes (spam protection) Until you clear your browser

Statistics (only with your consent in Europe and Canada)

PostHog, our website analytics, stores nothing on your device unless you accept statistics cookies. Without that consent it counts visits without cookies and doesn't record sessions. With your consent, it stores the items below (the <project key> part is our PostHog project's public key), links your visits over time and records sessions, with everything typed into form fields masked. A session ends after 30 minutes without activity. If you withdraw consent, these items are deleted.

Ahrefs Web Analytics, our second visit-statistics tool, also runs only with your consent to statistics cookies; without it, nothing is sent to Ahrefs. With your consent, Ahrefs receives the address of each page you view (including any campaign tags and click identifiers in it), the page title, your browser language and screen size, and the addresses of links you click. It uses no cookies and stores nothing on your device, so it has no rows in the table below.

ph_<project key>_posthog Local storage PostHog A random identifier for your browser, the current session, and the first page and referring site of your visits Until you withdraw consent or clear your browser

ph_<project key>_window_id, ph_<project key>_primary_window_exists Session storage PostHog Tell your browser tabs apart within a session Until you close the browser tab
ph_<project key>_session_registered_properties Session storage PostHog Technical details of the current session Until you close the browser tab

Advertising (only with your consent in Europe and Canada)

Name Type Set by Purpose Kept for
_gcl_au Cookie Google Ads Measures whether a visit from our ads leads to an enquiry 90 days
_gcl_aw Cookie Google Ads Stores the ad click identifier, so an enquiry can be matched to the ad 90 days
_gcl_ls Local storage Google Ads Keeps ad-click and conversion measurement details alongside the cookies above Until you clear your browser

When its tag runs, Google may also set cookies on its own domains; see how Google uses cookies.

Below is the list generated automatically by our consent platform, Cookiebot, from scanning the Website. It may name or group some items differently from the tables above.

Tools that store nothing on your device

  • Sentry reports errors without storing anything on your device.
  • Ad source details (campaign tags, and click identifiers only with your consent to advertising cookies) travel in page addresses and the form; our code doesn't store them on your device.
  • EmailJS sends the form to our mailbox.
  • Public code libraries (unpkg, cdnjs, jsDelivr) deliver code the Website runs on.
